About Us
A Local Business, Built on Trust
Cerney Build is a Cirencester-based dry stone walling business, located in South Cerney and working throughout Cirencester and the surrounding villages. We also take on larger projects across Wiltshire and Gloucestershire.
We specialise in building, repairing, and maintaining traditional dry stone walls using natural stone from local, sustainable quarries. Alongside walling, we also install post-and-rail and stock fencing, and create stone patios and small areas of hard landscaping that sit comfortably within their surroundings. Dry stone walling is an old craft, and we're passionate about keeping these skills alive and building strong, practical work that belongs in the landscape.
Cerney Build was founded by Gareth Cerney, a Cirencester dry stone waller with over 20 years of hands-on experience. Gareth is always happy to talk through potential work, offer straightforward advice, and believes that good communication is just as important as good workmanship.

What We Do
We build and repair dry stone walls across Cirencester and the surrounding villages, working with respect for local tradition and the character of the Cotswolds. Our work includes traditional walling for farms, woodland, and land management, helping to keep livestock secure, as well as clean, well-built walls for housing developments where appearance and planning conditions matter. We also create bespoke walls for private homes, along with post-and-rail and stock fencing, stone patios, and hard landscaping that complements existing buildings. Feature work such as wells or fountains, and insurance repairs and rebuilds, are carried out with care to preserve Cirencester’s stone heritage.
